A bit ‘o fog…

Friday, August 10th, 2007

I’ve been wanting to shoot on a cloudy day for a while now, the weather’s been nice enough that I hadn’t had a chance. Today when the clouds rolled in I headed out to Harriman State Park to take some photos. Still getting the hang of various lighting conditions, but they’re neat nonetheless. Also, the first two photos are cloud cover rolling in before a storm a week or two back. FYI: Nothing in the 2nd picture is altered but the hue and saturation – that IS a face in the clouds.

Manasquan – July 2007

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Decided to introduce the gf to my old vacation stomping ground – Manasquan, NJ this past week. We stayed at the Inn on Main, and despite the neurotic owner had a great time. Highlights – the beach, Surf Taco, Asia Basil, and oh yeah – the beach.

I’ve got a more lengthy post done, but it’s on my laptop and I don’t quite feel like turning it on at the moment. 🙂

As always, high-resolution versions are available upon request. Drop me a line.

Hiking the Sussex Branch Trail

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

This past Saturday the weather was perfect for a hike… The obvious options were High Point State Park, and the portion of the AT that crosses through Vernon, NJ. When the option for the Sussex Branch Trail was discussed, it easily won over the others. In short – the trail is 21 miles long, flat, straight, and is nothing more than a former rail-bed that was retired in 1966. Next time I’m going to look into getting a bike, as while the trail is nice on foot to take it on wheel IMHO would be a crime.

Enjoy the pics. Anyone that wants a high-resolution copy should drop me an email.

Thanksgiving Eve 2006

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

The Thanksgiving Eve 2006 gettogether was a resounding success once again for our 3rd venture out to the Macaroni Grill in Wayne, NJ. Everyone still managed to get me with the birthday prank AGAIN, but hey, free chocolate cake? Won’t see me complain!

Under the “Continue Reading” link below are the pictures I took. I’ve cropped them and lowered their resolution to cut the size as well as speed up download time. If you plan on printing any of them out, LET ME KNOW, as I can provide you with the original hi-resolution photos.

Aw, shoot.

Care to step inside?

That dilapidated silo near Scenic Lakes in Sussex County, NJ… from the inside. Didn’t see any warnings up so I figured I would head inside and take a shot. The original photo was taken around 1pm on Sunday while the sun was up and the sky was partly cloudy… a little modification in Photoshop and – viola!

Neat little tunnel/stream combo that runs along Route 23 in Franklin, NJ. I always enjoy tunnels, don’t know why. Maybe when the weather warms up in the spring I’ll get wet and pull off some shots from inside the tunnel.

What was I dreaming about?

Another view of the tunnel, this time the road side.

A little art in an otherwise dull day…

Shooting in the dark is fun…

Friday, October 13th, 2006

Went shooting this evening. I’ve always had this fascination with the night-time, and the way different lighting affects the environment in general. After the “Life moves pretty fast” photos I took in Vegas, I wanted to see what else I could do with this little camera of mine. I took about 30 shots tonight, a few of my favorites are below for you fine folks to check out.
