A fan of Smallville for the past few years, I must say that by far last nights episode was the best in the history of the series.

Lana sets a trap for Clark so she can finally see his secret in action!
Lana realizes the truth, and plans to leave Lex at the altar!
Lionel threatens Clark’s life if Lana does not marry Lex!
I have never really been a fan of Kristin Kreuk’s acting on the show, sure she fills the role of Lana well enough but any time her mettle was tested I was left cringing. Last night made up for it, she absolutely and believably nailed the role and the situation she was forced to face… Knowing the truth about Clark, and forced to wed Lex in order to protect him – how the roles have been reversed! Still nothing said in detail about the baby or Lana’s “condition.” My guess? If memory serves, Lex had Clark’s blood and thus his DNA. Could a super-Lex be on the way, a hybrid of Clark, Lex, and Lana? Or perhaps it is simply Clark’s DNA and Lex had him cloned in this manner to learn the truth for himself without any intervention.
I’m excited to see where the series will go next, especially after this. More WWF personalities are planned for next week’s episode, I haven’t been overly thrilled by the hunt for phantom’s storyline – but if it eventually leads to Clark being trained in the ways of the Kryptonian then so be it. I’m still wondering when he’ll figure out he can fly, keeping him grounded has kept him separate from Superman – but it is inevitable, he can’t be a farm-boy forever.
