Congrats to Hendrick Motorsports and Jimmie Johnson as they continue their domination of the 2007 Nascar Nextel Cup season.
I can’t say I like the COT races so far, and there’s something COMPLETELY off in regard to how they call cautions at COT races. I wouldn’t be surprised if the powers that be at Nascar are attempting to keep the number of COT induced cautions down in favor of latter cautions for debris.
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that at any track with the current car, if a car hits the wall even the slightest bit a caution gets called. At the COT races, a car can smack the wall, cut the tire, and end up stuck on the outside groove multiple times trying to get back to pit row.
So yeah, the car crumples like foil and drops more debris than a hyperactive bull with diarrhea, but hey – there are less cautions at COT races – look at the numbers!
IMHO you could put Johnson, Gordon, Busch and Mears in soap-box racers and they’d still land top 10 finishes.
So like I said – Congrats to Jimmie Johnson and the Lowes #48 team as well as Hendrick Motorsports. 🙂
