Doomsday = Stupid

Made a 2nd attempt to watch Doomsday last night as the first copy I got from Netflix was damaged. They did a good job of getting me the disk within a day. Story goes like this, huge virus hits Scotland, entire country is walled off. 30 years later, the virus shows up in London. Turns out there were survivors in Scotland, so they send a special forces team in, a couple doctors, and a female hero that narrowly escaped the first virus.

It’s like a cross between Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Resident Evil Extinction, minus the zombies. Seriously, much of this movie is just completely bizarre, and outright senseless. Case in point – cannibalism. One of the major scenes involves char broiling one of the special forces guys, and tearing the body apart. Ok, there’s no food, people are starving, etc. The very first thing that happens when they cross the wall in the tanks – they hit and kill a cow. The set off a flare and you see THOUSANDS OF CATTLE. Stupid.

The acting of the people in the cities is where I get the mad max vibe. Silly haircuts, tattoos, makeup, it looks like the front row of a Motley Crue show at the Whiskey in the ’80s. Not to mention the “This is our city!” line. This is shouted in a closed little arena area, not the gates of Sparta, and no offense bro, you may be Scottish but Gerard Butler could out-act you in his sleep.

This movie is the result of throwing money at a formula, and then modifying it so that people claim that you’ve stolen ideas from a half dozen other films to try and come up with your own. Having Malcom McDowell as the doctor that was left behind, and is now in charge of a medieval castle was an interesting touch – but to be perfectly honest, the role was a waste of his talent… Also, Bob Hoskins, what were you thinking!?

I’d say rent it, but only during a free trial.

The death knell of Big Right

Folks, I really didn’t care for John McCain.

Ever.

I’ll fully admit why he lost. He’s not a Conservative. Like Bush, he’s done a ton of crap that wasn’t Conservative. After 8 years of RINO in the White House, not even the firebrand of Sarah Palin could get him through the door.

It did get Palin’s name on the minds of Conservatives though. Should the Obama Administration prove to be as useless as all Democrats have been over the past 8 years, she has a name which in 2012 could get her over the top on her own merit.

The media showed us all its cards. They went after Palin on every single thing that could possibly have hurt her efforts and it slid off like eggs on Teflon. What does Palin have to do for the next 4 years? Be a successful governor in her state. That’s it.

Now we’ve got stories in the news of mystery staffers for McCain BLAMING Palin for his loss. Are they serious? The only reason Obama didn’t get ALL the electoral votes for the entire nation can be summed up in 2 words, Sarah Palin.

Unfortunately, there are a big steaming group of cowards at the reigns of the Republican party who are AFRAID to be Conservative. They think we need to be MORE moderate, we need to ACT like Liberals. Fiscal Conservatism is dead, Bush killed it, McCain killed it, all the elected Senators and Senatourettes who gave Bush a blank checkbook backed by MY ASS – KILLED IT.

We need to purge the party of these wishy washy little cowards, vote them out, tear them down, and get real Conservatives back at the helm. We did it 15 years ago, why the hell can’t we do it again? This time – hopefully the attention span of America won’t be so short.

Seriously, we have a devout Socialist as President Elect, and the best we could offer to challenge him was Socialist Lite with a slight dusting of Conservatism from the great white north.

I’d say Palin 2012, but honestly, I don’t believe the Right is capable of recovering from this fuckup in a mere 4 years, as it only took them until Clinton left office to forget HOW THEY GOT THERE. They’d need to grow some balls – and the only elected Conservative with any philosophical fortitude is back at work in Alaska.

Oh Lord…

I’m apparently late to the party on this Youtube video, but I think everyone can agree… Once you’re watching it, you can’t really shut it off.

Political Hiatus Effective Immediately

I’m disgusted beyond words with the Republican Party and the Conservative movement.

YOU !@#$ING BLEW IT ON EVERY LEVEL THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN BLOWN.

I’ll give BHO a break for now, here’s hoping that the reality of the office can grow him into a real leader and not a puppet of popular opinion. Palin was a long shot that failed, and IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN NECESSARY IF YOU !@#$ING !@#HOLES HADN’T BEEN ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL FOR THE PAST !@#$ING 8 YEARS.

To all my Democrat pals, the keys are yours, the house is yours, you’ve got nobody to fall back on but yourselves. Best of luck. We finally got a leader we deserve.

Peace.

Stereotypes = Fail

Walking through the office today, I heard someone talking Politics, and just ignored it.

Then I run into them again (these are girls in their 20’s) and it turns out they voted my way.

Absolutely blew my mind that there are people younger than me who are NOT voting for Dear Leader.

Palin guilty of using Yahoo mail for state business!

Well, I just wanted to “fit in” with my future big media masters while I still have the freedom to blog.  The headline actually was: New Troopergate report clears Palin.

Pretty much the only thing they found wrong was that she used Yahoo email for state business. Do I think there was a nefarious deed at hand? Of course! She was obviously plotting the Fascist takeover of the USA I doubt it. Computer users are naive by nature. It doesn’t matter how many computer policies are thrown at people, occasionally they’ll slip

I couldn’t care less of Obama had a Gmail account and occasionally waxed intellectual with Chavez, so thinking Palin had some chats over Caribou migration with the CEO of Exxon really doesn’t matter to me either.

It’s good to see that some aspects of the media (cough Fox News) are reporting this. Those Capitalist pigs.

Oh, stuff it Buchanan.

Buchanan: Immigration Will Prevent Pendulum From Swinging Back

Caught this interesting snippit through NewsBusters (3rd party, I know, those bastards) about how Pat Buchanan thinks that new immigrants and minorities are going to shoot for the even BIGGER centralized government that will result from an Obama administration…

Can’t disagree with him enough.  Honestly, I think a fair number of modern Americans are so far removed from the nuclear family unit, from their immigrant history, from a solid work ethic – that they may just fall for the promises held by a Socialist administration.  The immigrants on the way in however, are mainly coming FROM Socialist nations because of the lack of opportunity.

I live in an area with an ever growing Mexican population.  Some days I see more Texas license plates than I see NY.  They’re hard, honest workers – who struggle every day to support their family in the hopes that they may see the American dream in their lifetime, and share it with their families.

Obama’s campaign took them for idiots, Conservatives on the other hand (not Bush, not McCain – YET) can hopefully take advantage of that work ethic and that desire to achieve that far too many of the whiny, pithy, bitchy iPod eared American useful idiots have forgotten.

Of course, taking advantage will involve Robin Hood not being elected and summarily driving the job market into the tank by burying small business under a tax burden that’d send a tingle up Karl Marx’s leg.

VOTE.

I’m nervous.

I’m nervous because Wednesday morning I may wake up and the most Socialist member of Congress may just be the President.  I’m nervous because his definition of “Rich” has seemingly dropped from $250,000 per year to $50,000 per year.  I’m nervous because he plans on putting the same Government who hasn’t gotten Social Security fixed over the course of 70+ years in charge of my healthcare.  I’m nervous because in the midst of a recession, he plans on over a trillion dollars of new spending – AND more taxes.  I’m nervous because he wants to implement a civilian defense force that is as powerful and well funded as the US Military.  Waffen SS Anyone?

Spread the wealth around? Assassinate the character of dissenters? Discard media outlets who disagree? What honest self respecting American can vote for this bullshit?  If you want Hope and Change, you’ll get it, because Obama will Change everything for the worst, and everyone who voted for him who has half a brain will Hope that he is summarily defeated in the elections of 2012…

Journalism has died in 2008!  I don’t know anything about Obama besides what leaks out through talk radio, Fox News, and the Conservative blogosphere.  Still to this day there are hundreds of questions which have never been asked of the man (albeit hurled at his Republican opponents).  Both sides should have gotten the full court press during this election cycle.  Instead, Obama has gotten a pass at every turn, and I can tell you precisely why…

If Obama wins, God forbid, the fairness doctrine is soon to follow, and the main stream media’s monopoly on information is restored.  Obama has already proven that he will shape the media with an iron fist, and it will seemingly allow the most do-nothing Democrat Congress in American history to get a pass.

If he loses, it’s the story of the century.  The media’s candidate fails.  Headlines all over shall exclaim “What Happened!?” as they shudder to recover from the loss, then cover it, then perhaps even cover everything they’ve ignored over the past couple years.  If he loses, expect many stories on the racism of America, the inequality, and the need for someone to implement the Marxist ideals that Obama was denied – simply because he’s Black.

I’m hopeful that come Wednesday morning, I will get to see the chaos rain down from the Left as they wonder how putting forth the biggest hype campaign since the Blair Witch Project could have failed.  The Obama campaign is a house of cards, and I don’t expect the useful idiots who have supported him along the way to go silently into that good night.

I’m hopeful that the Hail Mary of Sarah Palin works.  McCain is a reformer, as is Palin.  If they can reign in the wasteful spending, get the tax cuts made permanent (if not EXPANDED), secure our borders and tie up Afghanistan and Iraq – I’d say we’re on the way to recovery from the Bush years.

The shot that sells it.

With all the recent franchise reboots, I was weary of Star Trek.  I’m not really a trekkie, I didn’t care for the original series, but absolutely loved The Next Generation and the movies that followed.

Still, the photograph from AintItCoolNews sold me.  I’ll pay 15 bucks just to stare at Spock choking a bitch.

Some more shots here.
